JetBlue: Flip The Forecast

Task: Create a fun and engaging contest

Solution: Knowing that Boston winters are brutal, we gave Bostonians the chance to flip their forecast by flying to the sunny shores of San Diego. The catch? The Bostonian had to try and convince the San Diegan to swap places with them during New England's most cruel season. Using the hashtag #FlipTheForecast on Instagram, potential travelers were tasked to create a video telling JetBlue Card which city they live in and why they need to flip their forecast. In addition, to promote the contest, JetBlue parked branded Airstream trailers in two drastically different locales, Boston and San Diego, connecting customers at each destination through a livestream video experience. Participants on both ends had a chance to win a pair of roundtrip tickets to the opposite location, but much like the Instagram portion of the campaign, there was a catch- to successfully ‘Flip the Forecast’ each person had to convince the other and agree to swap locations with the other.
